Four Key Facts & Truths About Jesus

Text: Isaiah 9:6; Hebrews 1: 8,10; John 13:13; Hebrews 1:1-2; Mathew 21:35-37; Mathew 11:2-6; Hebrews 9:26-28; John 14:6; Acts 8:12

There are four key facts and truths about Jesus that you must know and understand. It stands Jesus out from every other person. Was Jesus a prophet? Yes, He was. Was He different from every other prophet? Yes, He was different because He was also the Messiah that the Jews were waiting for. John sent a message to Jesus, “Are you the one who was to come or should we look for another?” to show they were looking for somebody, and Jesus said, “I am” but He was much more than that. Every time you come into the presence of God, it must be clear to you what the Bible has said concerning Jesus. I will also include scriptures for these facts, and you must understand them. If the devil has not persecuted you because of your Christianity before, these four facts will bring persecution against you because those are the truths that the devil hates about Jesus.

He was not just a good man, He was a perfect man but He was also God in the flesh.

Isaiah 9:6

6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Jesus is the God that was given here. He is God for it says, “…His name shall be called the mighty God,”

Hebrews 1: 8,10

8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of thy kingdom.

Here, God the Father is talking about Jesus, the Son, “Thy throne, O God…” So, He is God.

10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands.

Jesus laid the foundation of the earth and the heavens are the works of His hand. That means He has been around from the beginning. He is God. You have no victory if you don’t understand this and that is why the name of Jesus does not work in the hands and mouth of many people.  They are not convinced about it. They say it as religious people, but they are not convinced about it. The Jews attacked Jesus because he made these claims.

John 13:13

13 Ye call me master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.

This scripture calls Him Master and Lord. They were calling him ceremoniously, but He asserted it.

Other scriptures: John 10:30-38, Mathew 22:41-46, John 20: 24-29

After Jesus, there is no other revelation of God to man.

Hebrews 1:1-2

1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,

2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

That’s the final revelation. Any revelation of God that is different from what Jesus brought is error.

Mathew 21:35-37

35 And the husbandman took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another

36 Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they did unto them likewise.

37 But last of all, he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son

We see in this parable that the householder sent his son ‘last of all’ – Jesus is the final revelation of God to man

Mathew 11:2-6

2 And when John heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples,

3 And said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another?

4 Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see:

5 The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

6 And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.

What was the question of John? “Are you the one that is to come, or do we look for another?” Jesus answered that question in the affirmative. After Jesus, you are not to look for another.

Hebrews 9:26-28

26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself

27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

How many times? Once, has He appeared to put away sin.

John 14:6

6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Does that make any other way possible? No.

Acts 8:12

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Now, let these four facts place two burdens on your heart as a Christian.

  1. The burden to tell somebody. If these four facts are the truth and you know anyone that does not accept them, and you don’t tell them, you will be guilty of the blood of that person.
  2. The burden to worship Him correctly. It is either Jesus is THE TRUTH, a liar, a fraud, or the insane. You will prove that in how you worship Jesus.

I want you to make a commitment to God that you will not keep these facts from mankind.
