From God’s perspective, joining the local church by divine leading is joining the divine plan to work in His set plan. When God told Philip to join himself to the chariot, there was something in there. It was not Philip that wanted to lead the Ethiopian eunuch to Christ; it was God that had something to do. The spirit carried him away, he found himself somewhere because God had something to do.
To Jonah, He said, “Arise, and go to Nineveh” Why? Because God had something to do. Therefore, when God ordered your steps to come to the Dream Centre, it is because God had something to do with you, in you, for you, upon you, around you, about you so that what He wants to do and happen for you can now happen.
The challenge that God has with His people is the challenge of what God wants to do or what He wants people to become. Every member of the Kingdom is accounted for by parts. Every member is a part. You are a member; you are a part of the body of Christ, the church. The Body of Christ, being many, is one body in Christ and everyone is a member of one part or another.
What God joins you to in the local church
Ephesians 4:16; 1 John 1:3; Hebrews 12:22
God sets people in the local church.
Psalms 68:6 God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.
Why does God set people in the local church? So that they will be joined to some kingdom forces that make destiny to happen. As you allow the divine, separation also takes place; from things that defile and break your focus. The joining will require a change in your normal life operations but it is worth it!
Things you are joined to in the Church
- The Pastor – 1 John 1:3; Jeremiah 23:3-4
- Destiny companions. Acts 16:10; 1 Corinthians 16:1-end.
- Destiny assignments that qualify you for eternal rewards- 1 Corinthians 3:13; Hebrews 13:17.
- Kingdom resources 2 Kings 4:8-35, 1 Kings 17:9-15.
- The Anointing / The Power of God.
- The truth, the way, life of God John 14;6, John 1:1, John 17:17.
Your Joint to the Anointing
Ephesians 4:15-16; Colossians 2:19.
All through your body, there are joints and there are parts. That is why you can’t just attend any church. Every part is located functionally and simply by agreement. Without a common goal, there is no joint.
The body of Christ is not complete with Jesus alone, it is complete with other saints. Jesus is the head; the Holy Spirit is the heart of God and the church is the hand and legs of God. The devil knows he can’t go after the head again but he has not relented in pursuing the body.
God sets people in the local church, and He does not stop until you align with His purpose for you. Until you discover your local church through which you are joined to the body of Christ, you will not be able to connect to the flows from the Head of the church.
Some flows that you enjoy when joined to an Apostolic Anointing:
Pastoral Oversight 1 Peter 5:1-2: Part of the responsibilities of a Pastor is taking oversight of the sheep as a shepherd watches over the sheep. Church membership confers on one the enjoyment of having a Pastor overseeing one’s life, keeping spiritual watch over you.
Divine Covering: Being a member of the church means that you have accepted to submit to and obey the Pastor and the church authority. As long as you do that, you enjoy divine covering. The anointing upon the Pastor and the church comes to you.
Fathering: 1 Corinthians 4:15 Spiritual fathering is real and church membership affords a Christian to be properly fathered. Biologically speaking, it is not normal for a child to be fathered by an outsider/stranger when his father is alive and around him.
Impartation: Through church membership, gifts can be imparted by the Pastor upon members but only those who are correctly positioned can have such gifts flowing in their lives Romans 1:11.
Discovery and Pursuit of Destiny: A New Testament church does not exist to service members’ problem rather it is to lead them from their problem to their purpose Luke 1:74. If your church membership is correct, the church should create a consciousness in you and facilitate your pursuit of destiny Ephesians 1:11, 2:10. It keeps you focused on that which is needful Luke 10:42.
Covenants, Promises and Prophecies: God cuts covenant with different churches. His promises and prophecies to assemblies differ from one to the other. Church membership qualifies you to enjoy the fulfilment of the covenants, promises and prophecies of God to the assembly you belong.
