As the year draws to a close, it’s time to pause and reflect on God’s faithfulness. December 2024 is our Month of Divine Acceleration and Recoveries, crowned by the Annual Thanksgiving Service. This isn’t just an event; it’s a divine moment to return with gratitude and experience even greater blessings!
From the Father’s Heart
Isaiah 51:10-11 declares:
“Art thou not it which hath dried the sea, the waters of the great deep; that hath made the depths of the sea a way for the ransomed to pass over? Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.”
This scripture captures the incredible deliverance of God and His unchanging expectation that His people return with thanksgiving. Have you paused to return?
How Have You Returned Today?
The Holy Spirit’s question is piercing: How have you returned to God? It’s not enough to be blessed; God longs for our hearts to overflow with gratitude.
Think of the ten lepers in Luke 17:12-19. Ten were healed, but only one returned to thank Jesus. That one was made whole.
Let’s not fall into the trap of taking God’s blessings for granted. Familiarity with His faithfulness can lead to forgetfulness. Thanksgiving is the key to unlocking completeness in your life—don’t miss this opportunity!
Why Must We Return to Thank God?
- It is His Due (Isaiah 51:11): Gratitude is a response to God’s goodness.
- It is His Will (1 Thessalonians 5:18): Thanksgiving aligns us with God’s divine purpose.
- It Activates Greater Blessings: Thanksgiving is a seed that triggers abundant harvests.
God is Looking for YOUR Thanksgiving
Your Thanksgiving must not be lost in the crowd! God is searching for a personalized and heartfelt return. Your gratitude matters because it reflects your relationship with Him.
In the place of corporate Thanksgiving, make your Thanksgiving personal. Let it carry the weight of your testimony, and honour the One who has blessed you.
Instructions for the Returnees
Rev. Olusola Areogun provides divine wisdom for our Thanksgiving preparation:
- The Take-Off Seed – As you enter the new year, sow a special seed for wealth. This is your first financial interaction with Heaven. It sets the tone for divine flows throughout the year. Attach a covenant to it, and give with purpose.
- The Thanksgiving Offering – Let your offering reflect your gratitude for the blessings of the year. Give emotionally, thoughtfully, and with faith. Match your offering to the level of God’s blessings in your life.
How to Make This Season Count
- Share your testimony of gratitude on social media with the hashtag #ReturningToThankGod. Inspire others to give thanks!
- Invite your family and friends to join you at the Annual Thanksgiving Service. Let them encounter the God who changes destinies.
- Pray and prepare your heart for a transformational encounter at this year’s service.
Let’s Make It Viral
As we give thanks, let’s create a ripple effect of gratitude! Share this blog with your circle, post your testimonies, and encourage someone to return to God with thanksgiving. Together, we can flood social media with testimonies of His goodness.
A Heart of Gratitude
Don’t be like the nine lepers who didn’t return. Resolve today to be the one who comes back to say Thank You. Thanksgiving is not just an act of worship; it’s the secret to unlocking the next level of blessings. God has an expectation for His people to return and give Him thanks.
Are you ready to meet that expectation?
Till next year, go and win with Jesus!
Blessings,
Rev. Olusola Areogun.
