Text: Jeremiah 10:23; Psalm 37:23

Jeremiah 10:23 Amplified Bible

23  O Lord, I know that the path of [life of] a man is not in himself;
It is not within [the limited ability of] man [even one at his best] to choose and direct his steps [in life].

Psalm 37:23 Amplified Bible

23  The steps of a [good and righteous] man are directed and established by the Lord,
And He delights in his way [and blesses his path].

In the journey of life, we often find ourselves standing at crossroads, unsure of which path to choose, or feeling limited by our circumstances. It is during these moments that we must turn our hearts towards prayer, for it is through prayer that we open the door to the prophetic side of our lives.

Jeremiah 10:23 reminds us that, as human beings, we are not capable of directing our own steps. We need guidance and direction, which can only come from the divine. Likewise, Psalm 37:23 assures us that the Lord orders the steps of a righteous person.

Prayer becomes the key that unlocks the prophetic realm, where God reveals His plans and purposes for our lives.

In a world that often emphasises the physical and material aspects of life, it is easy to neglect the prophetic side, the realm of the unseen. However, it is in this realm that we find hidden treasures, divine appointments, and supernatural guidance.

Isaiah 45:3 Amplified Bible

“I will give you the treasures of darkness [the hoarded treasures]
And the hidden riches of secret places, So that you may know that it is I, The Lord, the God of Israel, who calls you (Cyrus the Great) by your name.

Without prayer, we are limited to the physical realm alone, missing out on the abundant blessings and favour that await us.

Through prayer, we access the prophetic side, where God unveils His secrets and shares His heart with us. It is in this place of communion with our Heavenly Father that we receive insights, instructions, and divine strategies for our lives. Prayer opens our spiritual eyes to discern the pieces of information, schedules, and activities that align with God’s plans for us. As you pray, the steps to take on the physical side will be opened to you.

In the journey of life, we all carry both abilities and disabilities. These aspects of our being can either elevate us or hinder us. However, when we surrender ourselves to prayer, the Almighty God surpasses our limitations. He transforms our weaknesses into strengths and allows His power to be perfected in our lives. In prayer, we find divine empowerment to overcome pride that may stem from our abilities or the feeling of inferiority caused by our disabilities.

Isaiah 40:30-31 Amplified Bible

30 Even youths grow weary and tired,
And vigorous young men stumble badly,
31 But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him]
Will gain new strength and renew their power;
They will lift up their wings [and rise up close to God] like eagles [rising toward the sun];
They will run and not become weary,
They will walk and not grow tired.

Every human being has abilities and disabilities, but when the Almighty God swallows up both, nobody knows which one you have or lack. If you don’t pray, either of them will pull you down – either your ability will make you proud, or your disability will make you feel inferior. However, when you pray, God will take over.

The busier you are and the higher you go, the more time you need to give to prayer. It is crucial to understand that the busier we become and the higher we ascend in life, the more we need to prioritise prayer. As our responsibilities increase, so should our time dedicated to seeking God’s face.

Give yourself 30 minutes or one hour every day. Some cannot afford to do less than one hour every day because of the load that is coming upon the structure of their life.

Even Martin Luther, a great reformer, recognised the significance of prayer in managing the stress and demands of life. He devoted the first three hours of his day to prayer when he had more tasks to accomplish.

In prayer, God eases our burdens, imparts wisdom, and strengthens us for the journey ahead.

Anytime God wants to add to you, take you further, farther, and higher, He will call you to more prayer.

Therefore, let us commit ourselves to consistent and intentional prayer. Let us set aside at least 30 minutes or an hour daily to commune with God. As we do so, we position ourselves to receive divine guidance, supernatural favour, and heavenly downloads. May we diligently seek the prophetic side of our lives, for it is in that sacred space that we discover our true destiny.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I humbly ask for the grace to be consistent in prayer. Help me to prioritise my time with You and to dedicate at least 30 minutes daily to seek Your face. I recognise that in prayer, I find divine direction and strength. Guide me on this journey, Lord, and open my spiritual eyes to discern the prophetic side of my life. I surrender my abilities and disabilities to You, knowing that in Your hands, they are transformed and used for Your glory. Empower me, O God, to walk in the fullness of Your purpose. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
